Why Darone?

We chose the name Darone because it is the anastrophe for Ronda (one of the most popular card games in Morocco)  and at the same time it refers to the mother.

The daronnes are at the center of our lives while being invisible to the rest of society. In our collection of cards, everything is thought out in such a way as to reverse the balance of power and reestablish the daronne as the central character at the head of the hierarchical structure of the game. The queens-chikhates (n°13) are the strongest cards in the game , followed by their offspring, the child-kings (n°12) then riders on their bikes (n°11).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the Metaverse?

Inspired by science fiction, the metaverse is defined as a virtual and immersive world. In the form of an avatar, users can through virtual reality headsets interact in infinite environments where the only limit is that of the imagination.

The metaverse is thus based onthree mechanisms: the datafication of the immaterial, the commodification of emotions & the curation of influence.

What we think of the Metaverse

We are not fooled, Facebook is a "targeted" advertising machine that optimizes the chances of us buying something.

The Metaverse is a virtual world whose sole purpose is to be able to continue to create hyper-consumers.

However, virtual reality makes it possible to extend the spectrum of possibilities in all areas: professional, educational, sports, artistic, etc.

The hyperconnection has enabled several artists to make their work known and to make a living from their art. Social networks have led to incredible collaborations that surely would not have been considered otherwise.

Depending on how we approach it, the Metaverse can enslave us or strengthen us. It is up to us to inject our values and our ambitions into it.

The Metaverse marks the passage to a new area for the Web with more possibilities for artists. We suggest you get started on the subject. Understand what is cryptocurrency, what is an NFT and what is a virtual world to form your own opinion!

What is an NFT?

NFT (non-fungible token) is an object that cannot be replaced. Specifically, it is an intangible piece of content that comes with a digital signature to verify its authenticity.

Think of an NFT as a unique item, such as an artist's canvas, or a numbered copy of a limited edition print. The holder of the NFT, does not hold the digital file of the artwork, but rather a link to the file itself.

NFTs are naturally more likely to relate to a digital work since it can be directly included within the NFT.

Conversely, the other categories of works, inseparable from a physical medium, cannot be directly included in the NFT; it is their copy/reproduction in a digital format that will be the subject of the NFT. An NFT can represent a physical work, but what is exchanged when selling NFTs is a digital representation of that work. The physical work can still be sold separately from the NFT.

We can actually transform everything into NFT; a tweet, an image or a meme, and make it an “original”. This original can then be bought and sold and cannot be reproduced or stolen.

What we think of NFTs

NFTs will certainly become more democratic in our societies. Examples include magazine subscriptions or museum tickets.

For artists, NFTs are good news. They improve the protection of property rights, and allow a more equitable distribution of the profits generated by the sale of works of art. Selling via NFT makes it possible to provide additional legal guarantees to both the buyer and the artist.

Unfortunately the NFT market has a real ecological impact. Each transaction increases the required storage size. Ecological considerations mainly concern blockchains that operate in proof of work (Proof-of-Work). There are others that work as proof of stakes (Proof-of-Stake) whose energy consumption is much lower (Tezos for example).

How to sell NFTs?

First of all, to put NFTs on sale, it is necessary to have a cryptocurrency wallet.

An NFT is generated by computer programs called smart-contracts. In order to make the use of these smart-contracts accessible to as many people as possible, platforms provide web applications. For the sale of art, the most common platforms are Opensea, Rarible, SuperRare, NiftyGateway or Hic Et Nunc. It is possible to create several NFTs from the same work. However, the rarer an asset is, the more its value is likely to increase.

How to buy NFTs?

To buy NFTs, it is necessary to own a cryptocurrency wallet. Warning!  The management of this portfolio is everyone's responsibility. The creation of cryptocurrencies aims to make individuals sovereign over what they own. This technology abolishes the notion of trusted third party in order to avoid the risk of censorship or centralization of powers. Unfortunately, the consequence is that if an individual loses access to their wallet, all assets linked to it will be lost.

Here is a simplified diagram of the steps to buy an NFT:link

  1. Create a Web3 wallet >

  2. Fund your wallet with ETH >

  3. See the NFTs available in an NFT marketplace (ex: OpenSea)

The collection of NFT DARONE will be available soon.
